Everyone knows it. The government has been and is inefficient in nearly everything it does. This includes one of the most important things that the government regulates: education. It seems as if education is hardly even touched by politicians. When was the last time you have heard a news report about the educational system in America? We need to start focusing on the education system because, after all, your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and even you have or will be a part of this system. The people that this system touches are our leaders for the future.
Outdoor play areas are always nice to see – if your child has access to fresh air and play space, instead of being confined to one small room, will almost certainly increase the quality of their creche or Montessori experience. Check to see if the play equipment is clean, safe and secure. Is the surface underneath play equipment soft? How old is it?
Observe the environment in general. Look for comfort, yet order. The environment should be child-centered. This means everything should be easily accessible to the children, without requiring constant adult intervention.
Situation 2: our six years old called for a spot for right after school care. His day would certainly mostly be used up from his primary school school. He required top quality daycare in Roanoke just for a several hours in the evening. He called for good guidance, assistance to perform his homework, a healthy treat, and merely a spot to let loose. It was also important to us that the school could transport him to their facility securely daily.
TAKE YOGA CLASSES WITH YOUR CHILD. Our children are growing up in a fast-paced and stressful world. Introducing them to Yoga can have profound effects, including physical flexibility and body awareness, the development of a sense of calmness and an increase in their ability to concentrate. Some have even said that it connects a child more deeply with their inner self and brings about a relationship between them and the natural world that surrounds them.
When I look back on my childhood, I remember walking around in my mother’s high heels, playing in her make-up, and dressing up in her clothes. Men, probably, remember watching their fathers shave, work on the car, and watching sports together. Children copying the things their parents do are a form of play. Maria Montessori believed that children learn the most through play. Today, there are many schools in the United States that use the Montessori Method of education. There is one located in Jackson, MS called Best Montessori Preschool at St. James. I will include the address and phone number at the end of the article.
Observe the children’s interactions with each other. Watch for examples of grace and courtesy. Look for their comfort level as they interact with each other and with their teacher. Watch how they handle disagreements. Look for a mix of children working independently and in small groups.
Your children are not forced to be compliant. They are not stuck in a chair for hours on end and they are not treated like adults. They are treated like the children they are. They are allowed to grow gracefully and confidently. They are able to communicate and interact with the world around them. By sending your children to a Montessori school you make it possible for them to be instructed without them losing interest or becoming bored. Everything is presented in an interesting manner that is easy to understand. Your child will be able to learn at his or her own pace, and when they have mastered a certain skill, they will be able to move on to the next. With this method of instruction, no child is left behind or by the wayside. No child is pushed beyond his or her capabilities.
